The Philippine Pro Gaming League (PPGL) kicks off this year by bringing the 2021 VALORANT Challengers, a national competition that will serve as a qualification path for Filipino gamers to VALORANT Masters, where the best of Southeast Asia will compete.
Challengers is divided into three stages, and each stage will run three (Week 01-02-03) tournaments taking place over six weeks. Only two teams from the Philippines will advance to Masters to represent the country against other regions. For Stage 01, a total prize pool of PhP 375,000 will be up for grabs for Filipino gamers.
STAGE 01
WEEK 01
- Registration: January 20-24, 2021
- Open qualifs: January 30-31, 2021 (Top 8 teams advance to playoffs; not broadcasted)
- Playoffs: February 5-7, 2021 (Broadcasted)
- 1st-4th places seeded to Week 02
- Prize pool breakdown:
- 1st place – PhP 20,000 (proceeds to Week 02)
- 2nd place – Php 10,000 (proceeds to Week 02)
- 3rd place – PhP 2,500 (proceeds to Week 02)
- 4th place – Php 2,500 (proceeds to Week 02)
WEEK 02
- Registration: January 20-Feb 7, 2021
- Open qualifs: February 13-14, 2021 (Top 4 teams advance to playoffs; not broadcasted)
- Playoffs: February 19-21 2021 (Broadcasted)
- 1st place proceeds to Masters.
- 2nd-4th places seeded to Week 03
- Prize pool breakdown:
- 1st place – PhP 120,000 (proceeds to Masters)
- 2nd place – Php 50,000 (proceeds to Week 03)
- 3rd place – PhP 20,000 (proceeds to Week 03)
- 4th place – Php 20,000 (proceeds to Week 03)
WEEK 03
- Registration: January 20-Feb 21, 2021
- Open qualifs: February 27-28, 2021 (Top 5 teams advance to playoffs; not broadcasted)
- Playoffs: March 5-7, 2021 (Broadcasted)
- 1st place proceeds to Masters.
- Prize pool breakdown:
- 1st place – PhP 60,000 (proceeds to Masters)
- 2nd place – Php 30,000
- 3rd place – PhP 20,000
- 4th place – Php 20,000
