Bringing Thunder Super Soda To Gamers Through Esports Tour 2019!

Our 2019 run of our Mineski Esports Tour was sponsored by Thunder Super Soda, Coca-Cola’s first caffeinated energy drink brand in the Philippines. We could not be more pleased with their support for our nationwide esports tournament as the collaboration with the brand allowed us to bring an authentic esports experience to each major region of the Philippines.

Our Esports Tour is designed to give the Philippines’ southern regions of Visayas and Mindanao– regions that almost never get to experience the same large offline LANs held in the country’s national capital region of Metro Manila– a taste of live esports spectacle. After cybercafe-based qualifier tournaments, we were able to bring a mall-based regional finals for Dota 2, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang,  and CS:GO to each of Pampanga, Cebu, and Cagayan de Oro, as well as Metro Manila. Gamers from those regions were treated to an all-weekend event with Thunder Super Soda giveaways and a day-long esports show.

Each regional champion then went on to compete in one last grand finals event in the SM North EDSA mall in Metro Manila last August 31 to September 1, 2019. To spice up the event for attendees and viewers, the Tour also featured a showmatch between Mobile Legends influencers Akosi Dogie and Chix, and between an all-star team of Filipino Dota 2 pros and ex-pros versus TNC Dota 2 fresh from their The International 2019 run.

The entire 3-month-long tour was a success with over 1000 registrants, over 12,000 on-site attendees across five mall events, and as many happy esports fans, Thunder Super Soda in hand, after weekends of electrifying esports competition.
