Our Mineski Philippines team gathered their local esports community for a cause through their “Lockdown Games” games initiative, a week-on-week community tournament broadcast which raised a total of USD 20,000 as aid for the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) Medical Foundation.
Lockdown Games featured a variety of esports titles including Marvel Super War, Call of Duty Mobile, Dota 2, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
We also went BEYOND ESPORTS and got the cooperation of local professional basketball players Marc Pingris, Junemar Fajardo, Keifer Ravena to join two showmatches with professional Dota players Kuku, Bimbo, NinjaBoogie, Flysolo, Eyyou, Raven, DJ, Tims, and Armel. Student teams from the country’s two most prestigious universities also competed in a Dota 2 showmatch in the spirit of a collegiate sports event.
We went BEYOND MINESKI by uniting our various corporate partners and previous and current clients to also donate to the cause, even running an inter-brand corporate cup along the way as part of the Lockdown Games program.
In a time of uncertainty and necessary quarantine, we sought to bring a breath of fresh air to our gaming community while providing a platform for gamers to contribute what they can to the national public health effort.
